Drummer, educator and folklorist, Christian Noguera, will lead these sessions in the basics of “Guaguanco”, the popular “conga and clave” music of Cuba. Here at iMPeRFeCT Gallery, we want to encourage, applaud and promote the inclusion and participation of women in the Rumba...

Latino Film Festival is back in Philly and bigger than ever

The opening party this Friday includes the screening of “Tengo Talento," a series of short films by Eli Jacobson-Fantauzzi, about the search for a new generation of jazz, hip hop and folkloric musicians in Cuba; live music by Timbalona and Agudos Clef, and a cocktail reception — all packed into two hours.

A jazz saxophonist and an Afro-Latin drum collective—peculiar combo? Not for us. In fact, we live for these kinds of unlikely musical matchups. That said, the Mark Allen Quartet (with Strings) and Timbalona will play our main stage this Saturday, October 18th at 7pm. We caught up with Mark Allen and Andres Cisneros of Timbalona to talk about their upcoming show.
